MLK and Civil Disobedience- Martin Luther King Jr, had pacifist ideals and to fight back with action, but non violent action, civil disobedience not one black would step foot on a bus or use black restricted areas so that the law of segregation would be changed
Power of the "Mob"- People were scared to speak out and go against the mob because there were so many of them, and one voice would or would not be able to change that. Others were abused and hurt for going against the mob
Plessy V Ferguson vs. Brown V Board of Education- Segregation laws comply with black and whites as too many incidents happen
Civil Rights Goals- Goals for non segregation and equal rights
Eisenhower's Role In Little Rock- As Arkansas would not let the 9 go to school, Eisenhower ordered the Army against the National Guard to protect the 9 to go to the school
Rights of the Accused- Sixth Amendment, Can Have Attorney, Right To Counsel, Miranda rights
Brown V Board of Education- Oliver Brown sues school board because his 8 year old daughter wasn't allowed in school, started the Civil Rights Movement, ruled unconstitutional to have segregated schools
Chavez and the United Farm Workers- Giving the farmers a voice to get paid and work decent hours, anti immigration
FHA and ADA- Outlaws prejudice to sell or rent housing, and areas must have handicapped access
Purpose Of Filibusters- Allows the groups and associates' voices be heard and given a chance to state their position
Sit-ins and other Protests- Fighting without violence, boycotting what they didn't want to be a part of, and proving that segregation was a mind set thing
