Welcome To The United States !

As the second industrial revolution sparked, so did the peak of immigration to the United States at the time. Citizens from all over the world started to migrate to the East or West coast of the States. One of the most used immigration centers is the one on Ellis Island. Though now all records have been digitally recorded, they still have kept the old records of past families and pictures. Looking through these documents you can tell that the families were nervous for their future in this country. Their new life began with some changing their last names, or just adjusting them. Others must've felt excited and anxious to begin anew on this country that has been rumored to "pave their streets with gold". Thinking that they'll become rich overnight can be a tricky thing. After realizing that life in the States wasn't as easy as they assumed it would be, some parents fled back to their home countries, but leaving behind their children, hoping that their future would be brighter and one day make something out of themselves and carry on the family name...
